Ben is a second-year master’s student in the Social Work program at Pitt, concentrating on mental health. In addition to working in the lab he also has an internship with social services at Mercy Hospital in the Behavioral Health Unit. Ben also works as an adjunct professor teaching music at Carnegie Mellon. Before returning to school, he completed his bachelor’s in music performance at Carnegie Mellon, worked for a number of years as a music teacher and freelance musician, and helped design the curriculum for an online music education startup. Ben is currently exploring interests in mental health, therapeutic intervention, and research, with the hopes of earning his LCSW after graduation. In his free time he enjoys reading, hiking, listening to music, drinking good coffee, and spending time with his wife.
